If you are in France this month make sure you grab a copy of TRAX magazine as on the cover you'll be greeted with a free CD featuring a new mix by Anja Schneider - featuring a lot of unreleased new mobilee material, including Sebo K's 'Mr Duke' and a couple of tracks from Rodriguez Jr.'s debut album 'Bittersweet', which will be released on mobilee in September. Anja Schneider on BBC 6 Radio
Although today we may take it for granted that female artists are making big waves in dance music, with artists such as Maya Jane Coles and Deniz Kurtel on the covers of the biggest music magazines worldwide, it's undeniable that Anja Schneider was one of the original female artists that paved their own way in what was then a male dominated scene, and in turn helped those that followed.
Ruth Barnes, from BBC 6 Radio, made her own investigation in to female artists that are now figure heads in the scene, and as a part of her presentation she caught up with Anja Schneider and Ellen Allien to talk about their flourishing careers in the electronic dance music scene.
