mobilee Back to Back Vol. 5 presented by Marcin Czubala

The 5th installment of the Back to Back series is on its way, and we are very excited to announce that Marcin Czubala is at the helm!

Following tradition, CD 1 features a selection of Marcin Czubala's favourite recent and upcoming releases on mobilee, of which he's had an impressive array to choose from. Meanwhile CD 2 is compiled of a whole albums' worth of brand new material by Marcin Czubala, some of which he has produced with other artists including fellow countrymen Catz N Dogz, as well as Metrobox, Jozif, Affkt and Polish vocalist and producer Novika, all of whom bring their personal touch to the productions, with genuine instruments and vocals giving a unique live feel to the album.

Along with the release of the album, we are planning a mobilee Back To Back Tour for March and April 2011. Get in contact with diego [at] mobilee-records [dot] de to secure your mobilee showcase next year.

5 Questions with Anja Schneider

How many times have you been to Asia?

This was my third visit to Asia for playing, but I also went there on holiday for the Millennium in Bali with a big group of, actually I was also playing that time in one of the biggest clubs there, but they threw me out after ten minutes as I was so bad!

Did you meet anyone on the road?

Yes actually on the Asia tour it was funny as I met Ali from Tiefschwarz and we went to the biggest temple in Kamakura called 'The Great Buddha'. We also stayed in the same hotel as Ewan Pearson, who was on the road with his whole family! And Martin Buttrich was on the flight with us. It's a small Techno world ;) Actually it's always fun to meet your colleagues from home when you are on the road, as it's often quite boring and sometimes you have some of the best conversations with these people as you're removed from home. This can be really interesting and inspiring! but I'm not telling you what I found out this time ;).......

Have you got any stories from this trip?

I took a bit more time to explore the cities that I stayed in - so that I could learn about their cultures more and experience new things. One of the biggest things I did was to eat the Fugo in Tokyo, which is the poisonous blow fish. They have to have a license to serve it and we had it in the same hotel that is in the film 'Lost In Translation'....and I'm still alive!

The trip was to celebrate five years of mobilee records, when you began five years ago did you ever think you would be planning and going on world tours?

The first actual mobilee tour that we did was for the Back to Back compilation, I can't remember which one. Ever since we started the label though, I always tried to bring another artist from the roster on the road with me because it was always the concept of mobilee - never just to focus on one person, but always the team and to get everyone on the road, and that's more fun of course.

How do you see the next five years...are you planning any big changes?

Not big changes, no, because we feel that the way we have everything running now is working really well, but we are thinking of opening up the roster to work with even more artists. In fact we are already doing it at the moment with new releases coming from Miss Kittin and Maya Jane Coles. We also have a debut artist album from Rodriguez Jr coming, which I'm really excited about as we have been working with him for a long time now and this is a big project for him. I am trying also to work on a new album, hopefully for 2012 and of course, at the beginning of 2011 we will be releasing Back to Back Vol.5 presented by Marcin Czubala.

Anja Schneider, Miss Kittin and Maya Jane Coles....coming soon!

We're very excited to announce that next three EPs on mobilee have been produced by three of the biggest female figures in the music industry today...

...either through longstanding recognition and prowess, or brand new upcoming talent.

Anja Schneider is going to see the year out with her brand new 'Pushin'' EP in December, whilst Miss Kittin and Maya Jane Coles both have releases coming in the new year.

Caroline Herve, aka , Miss Kittin is one of the those artists that everyone knows and admires, with an incredible catalogue of releases and collaborations behind her. Her onstage performances are unforgettable, as are her unique vocals that have appeared on many hit records over the years. 'All You Need' on mobilee will be her first release for over a year.

Meanwhile, Maya Jane Coles' latest release 'What They Say' on Real Tone was Number 1 in the Resident Advisor releases for November 2010 and she has now been nominated for "Best Breakthrough Producer" in DJ Mag's Best of British 2010 Awards.
