By the time 2015 ends, Lee Van Dowski would have released an impressive 17 tracks, capping off the most industrious and inspired year of his career. But don’t assume the Frenchman’s about to slow down. He’ll be kicking off 2016 with ‘Cerca Trova’, his first artist album in a decade, alongside ‘Elle’ a scorching new EP due in January.

The title track is a beautiful piano-laden melodic techno gem, driven by a tough underbelly of bass that has become Lee’s trademark. Untitled at the time, the cut first hit global eardrums on BBC Radio 1, when Mobilee boss Anja Schneider dropped a superb mix for Heidi’s Residency show and concluded the 30-minute session with this heady offering.

‘IC1101’ pushes the rave tempo into overdrive mode and harks back to the Frenchmen’s nascent dancefloor days, dishing up a propulsion of trance-tinged 90s-style techno that flirts with both the trippy and the psychedelic.

The spectacular searing low-end burner ‘Hal3’ rounds out the three-track offering. A 10-minute concoction of searing low-end synths and crisp drums, it’s a brain-mangling balls-to-the-wall beast that’s tailor made for those special 5am gurn o’clock moments.
